So much more than a walk.

Guided by your Trainer Faye, you’ll learn to embed WalkActive into your walk. Regular practice creates many benefits and you don’t have to do 10,000 steps a day to achieve this.

Ideal for fitting into busy lives, WalkActive enhances your walk by improving posture and strength in your muscles.

  • The WalkActive Method is a walking programme developed by Joanna Hall which has been scientifically proven to reduce joint strain at the knees and ankles, improve posture and increase pace.

  • I would describe WalkActive as re-learning to walk. It focuses on the elements that cause us to walk sub-optimally (in terms of body alignment) and encourages people to grow in strength and alignment and is gentle on the body.

“Above all do not lose your desire to walk. Everyday, I walk myself into a state of wellbeing and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it. But, by sitting still, and the more one sits still, the closer one comes to feeling ill. Thus if one just keeps on walking, everything will be alright.”

WalkActive Testimonial from Claire

“The whole experience was really useful and I enjoyed both sessions. The sequential way that Faye built on the basics of the technique through to ways to improve pace was great.

Health Coaching Testimonial from Clare

“After just three sessions, I felt my head spin slow down. The goal setting really helped me to find manageable focus. I thought I already knew what I needed to do, but I just hadn’t gotten round to it. Going through this process has broken down obstacles I didn’t know I had and unlocked a clear, manageable direction for me. It has enabled me to form and stick to habits. Move Mindset has completely reset my focus. The walking sessions made the experience really enjoyable. I would highly recommend.”

Health Coaching Testimonial from Emma

“I had back pain which was uncomfortable and stopping me doing every day tasks with my family. I tried Health Coaching with Move Mindset. I can now walk pain free and am enjoying time out and about with my family.”

About Faye Andrews, Founder of Move Mindset

I’m a Health and Wellbeing Coach, business owner, wife and mum of two children. I spend a fair amount of time at Ice Rinks and at the side of football pitches supporting my kids sporting passions.

I’ve been studying, learning and working with a focus on Health and Wellbeing for 15 years.

Pre-2010 my career and life was very different. I would describe myself as a worrier, and that was very much part of my identity. This became all consuming in my work as a Tax Manager in my Corporate role. Whilst I received positive feedback and appraisals in my work, I was always wondering was I good enough? Could I deliver what was expected of me? What was I going to say when I met those new clients? How was I ever going to get all the work done? What was wrong with me? As a result my overall health and wellbeing declined. I just wasn’t coping with the pressure that I put on myself.

Following a career break to consider my options, I decided to pursue a completely different path and began a course in Nutrition. During my studies I was introduced to the concepts of Neuro-Linguistic programming and more broadly, coaching as tools for helping people to make lifestyle changes.

I instantly recognised the value of coaching for my own personal challenges around excessive worrying, but also as a tool to help work with others to explore what they really want and how they might overcome barriers and conflicts. It ignited a passion for coaching which I continue to develop. I went on to become a Master Practitioner in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

As a business owner, its taken time to get from the initial seeds of an idea, to making a full time commitment and having the confidence and self-belief to follow my passion. This process of discovery led me to recognise that I became more focused, more creative, more committed and less fearful, if I incorporated physical movement into every day. Whilst I always recognised the importance of exercise, there had been many situations and other choices made, where I didn’t prioritise movement, and the outcome in terms of my mental health and the impact on my behaviour, relationships and decisions, were not always great.

My mission then became clear - to help people to move more, as a way of accessing all of the mental and physical benefits and often social connection that comes with movement and exercise.

“Exercise is the key not only to physical health but to peace of mind” Nelson Mandela.
